Old Fashioned Tea Biscuits

These are so easy to make.
Perfect right out of the oven with a little butter or jam.
Serve them with dinner and your family will be so happy!

OLD FASHIONED TEA BISCUITS

2 cups flour
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cream of tarter
1/2 cup margarine or butter -cold
1 cup milk

In a large bowl combine dry ingredients.
Cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly.
Add milk stirring quickly to combine the ingredients.
Turn out onto a lightly floured work surface and knead the dough gently 10 times.
Pat dough until about 3/4 " thick and then cut with a biscuit cutter or with a glass.
Place on a greased pan.
Brush tops of biscuits with milk.
Bake at 450*F for 12-15 minutes
